About Downsview Church
Downsview is a congregation of the United Church of Canada. If you worship at a Methodist, Presbyterian or Congregationalist church in your home country, you will find a church home here. Downsview United Church has been serving the neighbourhood since 1830. Today, we are a lively multicultural congregation. Our worship service starts at 11:15am on Sunday and we have a full program for children.
Once a month a praise-style Singspiration! Worship is offered. See the Singspiration! sidebar for more information. It's informal with lots of participation. The youth band plays and we sing inspirational praise music and share testimonies and prayer. A bible quiz keeps us wanting to learn more about the bible.
The Church works hard to serve the Lord. In addition to our weekly services, we have many community events like Ham Suppers, All-ages Games Night for the whole neighbourhood, Wellness Education programs, Concerts and a Seniors' Travel group. Every week, a group goes for lunch at the local Swiss Chalet to get to know each other better. Our Choir welcomes new singers and rehearses Thursday nights after supper.
